BHS runners go to districts

LOWER WOODLAND PARK - Both the boys and girls Bainbridge cross country runners will advance to the district championships after stellar performances at the 3A Metro League Championships Thursday, Oct. 24 at Lower Woodland Park.

The girls varsity team took fifth place overall with a team score of 111, beating teams from Seattle Prep, Ingraham, Chief Sealth, Eastside Catholic and Franklin.

Lakeside took first place with a score of 48, followed by Holy Names followed by Holy Names Academy with a team score of 53.

Top finishers for BHS were Signe Lindquist (19:58), Naomi von Ruden (20:28), Haylee Derrickson (20:39), Alison Wise (20:59) and Audrey Weaver (21:29).

The boys team came in seventh place overall with a final team score of 179, beating teams from O’Dea, West Seattle, Eastside Catholic and Chief Sealth.

Nathan Hale took first place with a team score of 34, followed by Seattle Prep with an overall score of 67.

Top finishers for the Spartans were Nick Entress (16:53), Austin Harper (17:28), Devon Reynolds (17:34), Sean Simonsen (17:36) and Keith Carlson (17:41).

The SeaKing District Championships were slated to take place Thursday, Oct. 31 at Lake Samammish Park.
