23 Spartans advance to District track & field finals

SEATTLE – More than 20 members of the Bainbridge High track & field team earned slots at the upcoming district tournament during last week’s Metro Championships at Chief Sealth High School.

Twenty-three total Spartans soared through the two-day meet, which finished Friday, May 11.

The 3A/4A District 2 Championships began Wednesday, and will culminate Friday, May 18 at the Southwest Athletic Complex.

The district-bound Spartans, and their respective events, are: Bo Baird (pole vault), Sebastian Belkin (3200-meters), Nathan Eaton (javelin), Carter Hall (800-meters, 4×400 relay), Kyle Hammer (4×400 relay), Ari Jabloner (4×100 relay), Evan Kimmerlein (4×400 relay), Sean Lindsey (4×100 relay), Jacob Mathisen (shot put), Andrew Frankie Owen (4×100 relay), Carlo Ruggiero (4×400 relay, 800-meters), Joe Tabisola (javelin, discus and 4×100 relay), Pierre Visconti (4×100 relay), Leander von Specht (4×100 relay, 4×400 relay), Elliott Windrope (300-meter hurdles, 4×400 relay), Matthew Zuleger (javelin), Emma Brundige (4×400 relay, long jump, 200-meters, 100-meters), Emma Chee (pole vault), Reese Hill (4×400 relay, javelin), McKenzie Korican (400-meters, 4×400 relay), Elizabeth Messinger (300-meter hurdles, 4×400 relay), Anna Scott (4×400 relay), Natalie Taylor (4×400 relay, 300-meter hurdles) and Brooke Troyer (javelin , high jump).

The WIAA State Championships are slated to be held on Thursday, May 24 at Mount Tahoma High School.
