Holy Names Cougars test Spartan volleyball team

SEATTLE — Bainbridge narrowly escaped from the Cougars as the Spartans defeated Holy Names Academy in a tough Metro League volleyball matchup on the road late last week.

The Spartans edged Holy Names 26-24, 25-23, 19-25 and 26-24.

Emma Burgess finished with 39 digs for the Spartans.

Lauren Sheehan added 20 kills and 18 digs for Bainbridge, while teammate Hannah Wagner contributed 13 kills and three aces.

Other Spartan standouts included Emilia Dronkert (22 assists, three aces), Rowan Atherley (29 assists, nine digs), Kyra Easley (three blocks), Riley Kulfan (five kills, three blocks) and Adrienne Fountain (six kills).
