The Bainbridge Spartans will start the football season with a sizable challenge this Friday: the 4A Central Kitsap Cougars.

Bainbridge is hoping history won't repeat itself, however. The Spartans opened their season last year with a non-league matchup against the Cougars, and came up short, 48-7.

Game time at Olympic High School is 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6.

In another repeat of last year, Bainbridge will again play Kingston for the Spartans' second game of the season.

The Buccaneers will come to Memorial Stadium for the Spartans' first home game of the season on Friday, Sept. 13. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
