Bainbridge Island Yacht Club hosts open house to kick off the boating season

Bainbridge Island Yacht Club will start the boating season with an open house and new member sail on Sunday, May 5 at Eagle Harbor Marina.

There will be a skipper's meeting at 1 p.m. and all-comers sailboat race at 2 p.m.

An open house for new members and Cinco de Mayo fajita potluck party will follow the race.

All ages are welcome, and graduates of sailing programs will have the membership initiation fee waived for their whole family.

New members joining in 2013 will receive a voucher toward their Washington Boater Education Card which is now required for all boaters 50 years of age and under. Non-boat owners may join the Bainbridge Island Yacht Club and enjoy use of the soling sailboats.
