Spartan runners do well at Tacoma Invite

At the recent Tacoma Invite, five Spartans and two BHS relay teams cracked the top 10.

Boys from 26 high schools participated in the meet, and girls from 29 high schools also competed.

Mikelle Ackerley won the 800 meter in 2:20.40 for the Spartans. Alison Wise was sixth for BHS in 2:28.03.

Danielle Bogardus claimed eighth place for the Spartans in the 400 meter with a time of 1:01.74.

Tyler Cox was eighth for BHS in the 800 meter. He finished in 2:02.97.

Signe Lindquist took eighth place in the 1600 meter with a time of 5:38.75, her best time of the season.

Allison Murphy was first in the frosh/soph 1600 meter, and finished in 5:26.34.

The Bainbridge boys varsity relay team of Tyler Cox, Austin Harper, Tyler Martinez-Green and Ford Eimon placed seventh in 4x400 with a time of 3:42.92.

In the girls 4x400 relay, the Spartan foursome of Lindsay Wienkers, Alison Wise, Danielle Bogardus and Aerin Amomre claimed fourth in 4:09.22.

The Spartans were 12th in girls varsity scores overall, and 25th in boys scores. Bainbridge was first in freshmen/sophomore girls events in overall scores.
