Lakeside outlasts Spartans in tennis

The Lions nipped the Spartans 7-4 in coed tennis Tuesday at Magnuson Park in Seattle.

Lakeside rolled to wins in all three girls singles matches, and also won two-of-three in boys singles and two-of-two in girls doubles.

The Spartans battled back in boys doubles and mixed doubles.

No. 1. Keet Curtis and Ben DeVries won 6-4, 6-2 for BHS in boys No. 1 doubles against Trey Von Gortler and Michael Omori of Lakeside.

In boys No. 2 doubles, Mike Chaffee and Noland Pelly paired for a 6-3, 7-6 (5) Bainbridge victory over Adi Bodus and Brandon Anderson.

The Spartans’ Kajsa Nelson and Holt Ogden won 7-5, 6-4 in mixed doubles against Amy Wang and John Wojciehowski.
