The number one seed takes the title in dominating fashion.

After a close call against Stewart Title on Monday, Bainbridge Island Auto took care of business, shutting out Coldwell Bankers 10-0 in the semifinals and defeating Sears 9-4 in the Babe Ruth championship game Thursday at Sands Field.

Sears got on the board first with a run in the first inning on an RBI single by Kevin Hope and a run in the second on another RBI single by Will DiLorio.

But BI Auto countered with two in the second inning on RBI singles by Blake Harper and Ben Kallas.

Steffen Daquisto scored the go-ahead run in the third on a groundout to short.

BI Auto took advantage of four Sears errors to score six runs in the fourth and put the game out of reach.

Pitchers Dacquisto, Jordan Gaphni and Mitch Main combined to hold Sears to just two more runs.

“It was a fun season playing against many good, competitive teams,” BI Auto head coach Israel Gaphni said. “This season more than any previous, I felt any Babe Ruth team could have beaten any other team.”
