Two no-hitters thrown against Prep and Sealth.

The Bainbridge JV baseball team won three straight in recent action as they benefited from stellar pitching and defense.

The Spartans blanked the Seattle Prep Panthers in both games March 29 and 31.

Willie Green and Nick Tsoloimitis combined to throw a no-hitter. Green went four innings for the win while Tsoloimitis pitched three innings in relief, striking out six.

Ian Powell and Matt Gaphni each had two hits and an RBI.

In the second game, Bainbridge had 14 hits in an 8-0 win.

Eldon Ball had two hits and drove in three runs, while Tanner Bogardus, Will Martin and Chad Kakela chipped in two hits and an RBI.

Gary French got the win, giving up just three hits over five innings, while Will Watson struck out three in two innings of relief work.

Gaphni threw a complete game no-no against Chief Sealth last Friday, walking no one and striking out 10 as Bainbridge won 10-0.

He missed a perfect game when a Seahawk reached base on an error in the fourth.

The junior helped himself out by collecting two hits and three RBIs.

He also received help from Martin and Lane Coulton, who drove in two runs each, and Bogardus, who had two hits, one of which was a double.

Taurean Yamada had a double as well.

All three games had solid defensive contributions, including Corey Scancella and Stefan Dacquisto, who filled in for catcher Adam Beck and shortstop Kaukia Peloti when they were called up to the varsity.

The 5-3 Spartans play West Seattle at home April 17.
