"Good weather, big field for LynwoodAuburn's O.D. Vincent arrived with minutes to spare, then won."

"The top finishers in Saturday's Lynwood 10K almost didn't get to the starting line. Jana and O.D. Vincent drove up from Auburn with no idea where to go when they arrived on Bainbridge. We didn't know where Lynwood Center was, but a nice lady gave us directions, O.D. Vincent said, and the couple arrived with about five minutes to spare. Both trailed for much of the race. Vincent, the golf coach at the University of Washington, rode a late surge to win in 38:28 and claim his first road racing victory. Jana took the women's lead on the steep hill in Fort Ward State Park and finished 12th overall in 43:06. A former all-American swimmer at the UW, she's won five or six road races, she said.Somewhat unexpected good weather attracted 72 day of race signups to supplement the 61 pre-race registrations and provided the largest field in the race's four-year history. While Bainbridge residents comprised the majority of the field in the 10K and accompanying 2K kids' race, additional entries came from Bremerton, Silverdale, Sammamish, Tacoma and even four from Spokane. The sizable turnout enabled contributions of more than $1,500 to Bainbridge PeeWee football and $1,300 to EMAS (Every Man and Mom a Spartan). The leading individual fund-raiser was 9-year-old Jordan Wager, who turned in more than $330 in pledges. 2K ResultsBoys 5-7: 1, Aeden Vickers 9:50, 2, Aaron Wagner 12:50.Boys 8-10: 1, Colin Lea 6:58, 2, Colby Lea 7:23, 3, Alex Bean 8:57.Boys 11-13: 1, Bevan Taylor 6:18, 2, Christopher Bean 8:31.Girls 5-7: 1, Crystal Gruber 11:02, 2, Jessica Gruber 12:30.Girls 8-9: 1, Annie Taylor 7:27, 2, Tori Cawley 9:16, 3, Maari Vickers 10:08.Girls 11-13: 1, Kayley Turkheimer 6:46.10K ResultsGirls 14-19: 1, Britta Ambauer 1:00:46.Women 20-29: 1, Elizabeth Andrew 45:19, 2, Alissa Cermier 50:30, 3, Teresa Selby 58:14.Women 30-39: 1, Jana Vincent 43:06, 2, Sharon Burgias 43:41, 3, Heidi Washenberger 43:49.Women 40-49: 1, Laurel Michael 52:43, 2, Kim Bludorn 52:52, 3, Jan Redmond 54:56.Women 50-59: 1, Patsy Chandler 58:50, 2, Kate Carruthers 1:00:44, 3, Barbara Shullock 1:02:59.Boys 14-19: 1, Rick Lippincott 51:55, 2, Nick Breslin 58:21, 3, Paul Paskell 58:27.Men 20-29: 1, Greg Johnson 40:58, 2, Joshua Zenzic-Quinia 43:10, 3, Brandon Gough 44:39.Men 30-39: 1, O.D.
