Rope Skippers to host tournament

Things are going to get hopping soon at Woodward Middle School.
The Bainbridge Island Rope Skippers will be hosting the 19th Annual Bainbridge Island Invitational Tournament on Saturday, March 2 at the school.
Eight teams will be traveling from British Columbia and across Washington and Oregon for this speed and freestyle competition, with a total of 170 jumpers scheduled to compete. The competition will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the speed events. Single rope and Double Dutch freestyle events will be held in the afternoon, ending around 5 p.m.
National and World medal-winning jumpers from the Bainbridge team will compete against other top jumpers from the West Coast. For those new to the sport, the tournament promises to be an exciting introduction into the world of competitive jump rope.
Admission is free, and refreshments, jump ropes and tournament T-shirts will be available for purchase.
Information about the Bainbridge Island Rope Skippers’ junior team and summer camps will also be available. The team ranges in age from 8 to 21 and is coached by Julie Leachman.
