Wildcats rebound for girls hoops win

Freshman guards Lexi Ioane and Gabby Sarver combined for 29 points as West Seattle escaped with a 44-35 comeback victory at home against Bainbridge Island earlier this week in Metro League girls basketball.

The Spartans hammered out a 13-11 advantage going into the second quarter, and led 21-19 at halftime.

West Seattle rallied in the third and limited Bainbridge to just six points in the quarter to take a 32-27 lead. The Wildcats held on to win at home by outscoring the Spartans 12-8 in the fourth quarter.

Grace Kenyon led the Spartans with 11 points. Sydney Severson added 10 points.

Julie Feikes and Maddie Ketcheside contributed six points each, and Paige Brigham chipped in two.

Ioane led all scorers with 17 points.
