Space ships to Warhol

The entries are in for the Lego contest held by the Sidney Historical Museum and judges have selected the winners.
The contest is a feature of the museums current display of Lego creations, all done by curator and Lego afficianado Peter Garnham and his sons, David and Jason. A similar display last winter brought in an unprecedented number of visitors to the museum, and this is a way for Garnham and the museum volunteers to say thank you. And it also helps to feature this years Lego display, which will be at the museum from now through March.
The Peninsula News Review asked for photos of each entry to be sent in by January 2, and there were several submitted. A larger number of entries in some of the age groups made it a challenge to choose the winners, all of which are listed below. Our thanks to everyone who entered.
The winners are:
In the age 5 and under category:
Luke Rodrigues, age 5.
In the age 6 to 10 category:
1st: Sam Warren, age 7
Tied for 2nd: Alper Ozcetin, age 10 & Sarp Ozcetin, age 7,
And: Emma Crowley, age 6.
In the age 11 to 15 division:
1st: Tristan Hughes, age 11.
In the age 16+ division:
1st: Kim Passmore (Art of Mickey Mouse lithograph, a la Andy Warhol).
The winners will be contacted, and asked to take their creations to the Sidney Historical Museum, at the corner of Fourth Street and Beacon Avenue. The pieces will be displayed for the run of the Lego display.
