Will Whealdon of Bainbridge Island recently completed his first fall season with the Guilford College golf team.

A freshman on the team, Whealdon played in two of the Quakers’ tournaments and averaged 81 strokes in four rounds.

At the Ted Keller Memorial in Glen Allen, Va., Whealdon shot his best round of the year (78) and finished 35th overall with a 83-78-161. He shot 80-80-162 to finish 48th at the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial on Oct. 22-23.

The Guilford golf team placed first at the Ted Keller Memorial and second at the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial this fall under third-year coach Corey Maggard.

The Quakers are ranked eighth in the Nike Golf/ Golf World Division III Coaches’ Poll, and 11th in the Golfstat.com Division III Head-to-Head Rankings.

Guilford will resume its spring season Feb. 25th with the Pine Needles Intercollegiate in Southern Pines, N.C.
