Bainbridge comes from behind to beat Hazen in football

October 12, 2012 · 2:26 PM

Sam Kallas scored two crucial fourth-quarter touchdowns for Bainbridge Island in an amazing come-from-behind win against Hazen Thursday night.

Bainbridge won by a point, 21-20, at Renton Stadium.

The Highlanders were in front 20-7 going into the final stanza, but Kallas' late-game heroics turned the non-conference game around.

Kallas scored six on a pick, returning an interception 40 yards for a touchdown that brought Bainbridge to 20-13.

After Bainbridge recovered an onside kick, Kallas pulled in a touchdown pass from Spartan quarterback Paimon Jaberi.

The Spartan defense held the Highlanders scoreless on Hazen's final possession of the game.
