Holy Names Academy dealt the Spartans their first loss in three years in girls golf Tuesday, overcoming a strong challenge from the Spartans at Wing Point Golf Course to win 113-109.

Spartan Coach Ian Havill said the contest was a "great battle," and added that the Spartans shot their best score of the year during the Metro League matchup - a 20-stroke improvement over their last match.

DD Madigan and Annika Van Houte led Bainbridge with 30 points.

Fellow Spartan Claire Lunzer added 26, and Tara Wilford finished with 23.
