Spartans outlast Braves in girls volleyball

Bainbridge battered Bishop Blanchet to beat the Braves in five games Monday in girls volleyball.
The Spartans won 25-27, 21-25, 25-22, 25-16, 15-8.
Maggie Haskin came up big for the Spartans. She had 46 assists, seven digs and two kills.
Emma Burgess added 32 digs for Bainbridge, while Lauren Sheehan contributed 15 kills and 19 digs.
Other standouts for the Spartans were Hannah Wagner, who finished with 14 kills and 17 digs; Tess Haskin (four kills, two aces and 11 digs); and Kat Frickleton (10 kills and three blocks).
Bainbridge improved to 1-0 in league play (3-1 overall) with the win.
The Spartans next face Franklin High in Seattle on Friday, Sept. 21.
