Bellevue edges Bainbridge to advance to final four in boys lacrosse

The Wolverines outlasted the Spartans 11-4 Friday in Bellevue to advance to the semifinals of the Washington Lacrosse Boys State Championship tournament.

Hank Bethke paced Bellevue with three goals and an assist, while Cole Johnson had two goals and four assists. Dakota Jones and Blake Samuel also had a pair for the Wolverines.

The win was the second of the season for Bellevue over Bainbridge. The Wolverines downed the Spartans 9-3 on March 27.

Bainbridge finished the season with an 11-11-0 record (10-10-0 in the regular season).

The Wolverines play Wednesday in a semifinal matchup against Mercer Island, with the winner earning a trip to the state championship game next weekend.
