Spartans come up short against tough Issaquah team

April 29, 2012 · 12:08 PM

The Spartans fell to unbeaten Issaquah 7-5 in boys varsity lacrosse Friday at home.

The Eagles escaped with their 14th win of the season at Bainbridge Stadium.

Issaquah struck first with two unanswered goals in the first, but were hamstrung by the Spartan defense in the second as Bainbridge put up three goals to knot the game at three-all at the intermission.

The Eagles flew out to a three-goal third, however, and had a 6-4 lead going into the final quarter.

In the end, both squads managed a goal apiece to close out the scoring.

Matt O'Neill led all Eagle scorers with four goals, while Dain Weisner and Jason Ashton had two each for the Spartans.
