Bainbridge tennis team coasts to win

The Bainbridge Island tennis team hammered West Seattle 10-1 at home Monday, powered in part by flawless play in boys singles.

The Spartans improved to 3-2 in the Metro League and 5-2 overall.

In boys singles, Bainbridge’s Jacob Christensen defeated Max Zimmerman 6-0, 6-0.

Keet Curtis won 6-0, 6-0 over Ryan Durkoop.

Ben DeVries also beat Truong Ho 6-0, 6-0.

In girls No. 1 singles, Kate Jameson picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win for Bainbridge Island against Amanda Lacayo.

Jordan Ferguson defeated Maria Reyes 6-1, 6-1.

Fellow Spartan Sadie Dedon fell to West Seattle’s August Carow 6-4, 6-4.

In doubles play, Bainbridge was unstoppable.

In girls doubles, Meghan Hill and Margaux Henderson defeated Dalena Huynh and Valeria Najera 6-0, 6-2.

Ashely Huffnagle and Emma Stallworthy won 6-2, 6-2 against Wildcats Jennifer Huynh and Lisa Khuu.

In boys doubles, Ryan Bieber and Michael Bock beat Melvin Aguda and John Bui 6-3. 6-0.

Cooper Hayes and Henry McCombs also won 6-1, 6-0 against Michael Lee and Peter Nguyen.

In mixed doubles, Spartans Merce Chamness and Mike Chaffee defeated Megan Duong and Jimmy Bui 6-1, 6-1.
