Letters to the Editor
To the editor: Charlotte Garrido has been making improvements in Kitsap County and raising citizen voices for many years.
Community Events, October 2016
To the editor: Our Nov. 8 ballots will include I-732, an initiative to tax carbon emissions responsible for climate change, with proceeds committed to reducing sales taxes.
To the editor: As co-chairs of Kitsap Humane Society’s Annual Animal Krackers Gala Event, we want to thank the 430 enthusiastic animal lovers and supporters who attended our gala auction event on Oct. 1 at the Suquamish Casino, and contributed in excess of $330,000 to support our animal welfare mission. We smashed both attendance and fundraising records for this event.
To the editor: This year has been an interesting year to be a spectator in the political arena, witnessing the distraction which — too often — has diverted attention from issues that matter in our everyday lives. I have watched as political discourse has had an angry edge, and, at times, has been disrespectful of those who serve our citizens.
To the editor: Instead of bypassing the judicial elections on your ballot, please check the award-winning website VotingForJudges.org, click on your county to learn about the candidates, and confirm for yourself my endorsements below.
