Amazing!

Six months ago I concluded that the best “option” of the city’s planning in respect to the open-water marina would be its continued state of immobility and coax.

I felt the City Council had been irresponsible in planning the elimination of the liveaboard community in Eagle Harbor.

I was convinced that our city was so dysfunctional that it would not be able to create such a future for this important, traditional community.

I was wrong.

I find now that the Bainbridge Island City Council is proceeding toward a resolution, which is a refreshing change in itself.

This is being accomplished through community-based planning that supports the Eagle Harbor liveaboard community.

This change is occurring because of the brilliant community organization of Paul Svornich, Charlotte Rovelstad, Dave Ullin and others.

Thanks also to some wonderful changes in City Council.
