The recent Rise to the Challenge Breakfast with Ed Viesturs was a lovely success. Ed is a riveting speaker with amazing photos from the top of the world.

As parents of four children in our schools, the Viesturs understand the value of education and the need for fund raising.

The Bainbridge Schools Foundation thanks the 300 people who attended the breakfast and the generous business sponsors.

The event netted over $50,000 to date, and donations are still arriving by mail.

Did you know that in the last two years BISD has had to cut $3.6 million from its budget, approximately 10 percent, and we anticipate as much as $1.3 million being cut from next year’s budget.

Because 85 percent of the district budget supports personnel, additional teaching and support staff positions will be cut.

Bainbridge Schools Foundation is the only fund raising arm of the school district that can contribute to staffing and teacher salaries, so donations can make a difference.

Please consider going to www.bainbridgeschoolsfoundation.org and clicking the “donate now” button. We appreciate your support!
