Last week, Bainbridge Island residents received ballots for the Bainbridge Island School District levy. We urge you to vote yes. The ballot before us is a replacement levy, which pays for 80 full-time teachers and staff. Because this is a renewal, local taxes will not be increased. Please note, Bainbridge Island has never operated without a local levy.

School districts across the state use local levy dollars to help fund the gap between state funding and the actual cost to deliver basic education. Ballots are due Tuesday, Feb. 9. Vote Yes!

BISD PTOCC president,

Also signing were PTO presidents from BHS, Woodward, Sakai, Blakely, Ordway, Wilkes and Odyssey schools.
