Hytopoulos is independent, open to change | Letters | Oct. 30

Grass-roots leaders in our republic used to signal their public readiness by climbing on a horse. Since those times it’s gotten harder to judge a candidate’s readiness.
One minute they’re private-minded and shaking hands like it counts. The next they’re kissing babies near a T‘n C card table.
One local candidate’s readiness is not in doubt. Not much at City Hall or outside of it over the last few years has escaped her watchful eye or pen. This distinguishes her from her opponent.
Even stronger, Kirsten Hytopoulos has parsed wisely over the island issues more keenly than many of us. One wonders as your ballot is mailed sometimes which candidate is bringing a special interest focus to the table.
With Kirsten this should not be of concern. Open. Independent. Smart. Savvy, these come to mind.
