Hytopoulos won't avoid island issues | Letters | Oct. 23

Kirsten Hytopoulos is a person who cares about us. She has an impressive background as a prosecuting attorney and with a great grasp of the important issues facing us.
I have had numerous opportunities to speak with her on a one-to-one basis, and it is clear to me that she is deeply concerned about the island, protecting what is most valuable of the island’s past and considering its future with an eye to maintaining its uniqueness.
As a community activist, she has dealt in depth with many of the profound issues facing the island. These include fiscal issues, and those of water, sewers and related ecological issues, as well as preserving the character of Winslow Way. She is an excellent communicator and decision maker.
I support her because I believe she will confront all issues of concern to the island in an open, informed and inclusive way.
