Talk about a fox in the henhouse! Letting our intransigent City Council eliminate the only brake – called a mayor – is insanity.

A manager hired or fired by the council means a rubber stamp OK for every farfetched, expensive, wasteful and stupid thing with which the council wants to burden the island’s citizens.

We must be able to vote for the people who occupy the positions of importance, hopefully reflecting the will of the people.

We cannot allow individuals to abrogate our rights. Just being a city is bad enough.
