On behalf of Bainbridge Island fourth graders at Wilkes, Blakely and Ordway schools, we are pleased to announce each schools has reached its fundraising goals to support outdoor education.

We thank local business owners Steve and Kerry Sutorius of Wildernest, Victoria VanNocken of Bath Junkie, and David Fitzgerald and Ben Drury of Summit Sales for their generous contributions of time and money.

We also thank Islandwood for offering its Enviropalooza proceeds from the April 11 event and .Judy Nieukirk of Prudential NW Real Estate for donating her office for our holiday fundraiser.

Thanks to community for supporting the children in many ways: sponsorship for the weed pull; purchasing water bottles and tote bags; purchasing items from Greenraising catalog; contributing to the coin drive; donating to the letter-writing campaign; and purchasing items from the media sale.

Our gratitude goes to Josh Tuttle of Safeway and Steve Fadset of T&C, as well as to Washington State Ferries for allowing our children to sell items at their locations.

Our caring community helped the highly collaborative fundraising efforts of Wilkes, Blakely and Ordway schools to raise over $30,000 for outdoor education. Thank you for your support.

Kirsten Fitzgerald and Sue Constan, Ordway

Sarah Bullock and Cathy Sanford, Wilkes

Kristen Brelsford and Andrea Pickett, Blakely
