I’m very confused by council member Kim Brackett’s continued aggressive opposition to fixing the sewer lines under Winslow Way.

Ms. Brackett’s top campaign issue was to improve water quality to protect Puget Sound and island drinking water.

The Winslow Way sewer fix is the only issue on the city’s agenda that will make any progress towards that goal.

The federal and state governments agree and are contributing funding to the project. She should make good on her campaign promises and should be first in line to protect the environment.
