Letters to the Editor

Thank you from Camp Siberia-Kitezh | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

On Friday, April 26, we officially launched “Camp Siberia-Kitezh.”

After 11 years of helping Russian orphans in Siberia, this year marks the beginning of our collaboration with Kitezh, a Russian charity working to raise and rehabilitate children without parents. Our first delegation of Bainbridge teenagers leaves this June to volunteer for three weeks.

Our event was a silent auction and presentation held at IslandWood. The night was a success – nearly 150 people came out to show their support.

On behalf of the Camp Siberia-Kitezh board, this year’s counselors and the children in Russia, we’d like to say thank you to all those who attended, made a donation or both.

We’d also like to especially thank IslandWood for their beautiful venue, Salumi Cured Meats for their generous food contributions and all of the Bainbridge Island/Kitsap County vendors kind enough to donate.

For those not in attendance, stay tuned as our new and exciting program unfolds!
