Help set the future for Olympic National Park | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

Kitsap residents who cherish the Olympic National Park have a chance now to shape our wilderness experience as the park is preparing an impact statement for wilderness planning.

Park planners are asking what makes the wilderness experience special to you? What experience and activities are most important to you? What experience would you like to have 20 years from now?

We hope you will consider spending a few minutes responding to this opportunity. When commenting you might consider the single phrase “natural quiet” or “absence of noise pollution” as we believe this is central to the wilderness experience.

Comments can be made to www.parkplanning.nps.gov/OLYMWildNews1 or in person at posted public meetings such as at REI from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 4.

Thanks in advance to helping preserve our wild Olympics.
