Bicyclist needs to set the bar higher | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

February 8, 2013 · 8:55 AM

To the editor:

To the bicyclist who felt compelled to yell “Stay out of the [expletive] bike lane [expletive]!” at my daughter as she walked down a portion of a street with no sidewalk — two things:

First, I sincerely hope you come to a complete halt at every stop sign, use hand signals for every turn and never ever cut across the street in front of traffic, for that is one large glass house you are living in.

Second, try a little decorum. It’s hard to imagine a scenario that would justify such a vulgarity, but this certainly wasn’t it. Try to do better next time. Shouldn’t be too hard. You set the bar very low.
