To the editor:

Who puts the soul in Sing Out?

Foremost, it’s the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.! Stir in one foremost gospel singer, teacher and choir director, Pastor Patrinell Wright and her world-renowned, 40-year-old Choir. Mix them with folks of all ages, voices, faces, faiths and flavors. Warm the mix with savory soul food - vegetarian options - by Master Chef Rudy Rimando. Add music that inspired Rev. King and our nation. Serve in a Bainbridge High School Commons bowl filled with friends and neighbors. Seasoning: Highlight of a Bainbridge Island winter, Feb. 2, 7 p.m., www.singoutkitsap.org. The flavor lasts! Serves several hundred.

As Rev. King reminded us all, “Serve anytime anywhere.” You are the most important ingredient.
