Raffle helps support our island’s museum | LETTER TO THE EDITOR
January 4, 2013 · 12:31 PM
To the editor:
We want to thank the community at large and the members of the Bainbridge Island History Museum for their extraordinary support of our annual fundraising raffle.
This raffle is so important to our annual budget and thanks to all of you we have succeeded in balancing our budget.
To all who purchased raffle tickets, remember your stub is a free pass to visit our award-winning museum. Held over by popular demand we still have our Ansel Adams photo exhibit of Manzanar and our other special exhibit is Overland Westerners.
Overland Westerners is a lot of fun and, in a nutshell, is the story of five horses, four men (two of Bainbridge’s own) and a dog that set out in 1910 to visit all 48 state capitals by horseback. The trek ended up taking three years and they traveled more than 20,000 miles.
We are open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We invite everyone to come in for a visit and experience one of the Island’s greatest treasures.
Thank you all again.
