Hansen stands out for 23rd District | LETTER TO THE EDITOR
July 31, 2012 · 8:16 AM
To the editor:
Drew Hansen has been incredibly effective his first term in the state Legislature. In one year, he's helped veterans, increased engineering training at O.C., protected existing ferry service and supported public schools.
Many people talk about "working across the aisle" — Drew Hansen does it.
Drew obtained broad bipartisan support for his jobs bills and his veterans education bill.
His successful forest compensating tax bill will save Kitsap citizens money and support jobs, tourism and conservation. It passed 98-1! That is truly bipartisan support! That bill will make the Kitsap Forest and Bay project (preserving Port Gamble area land and trails) more likely to be successful, and is already helping other Kitsap conservation projects. Our local land trust is readying to use it on a land donation, which without it simply wouldn't have been possible.
Drew Hansen is incredibly well-qualified. The combination of his education, professional success, community service and proven willingness to work hard are truly impressive.
But what impressed me most when I met him, is that despite the formidable credentials, Drew Hansen is just a genuinely humble, approachable and nice person.
I hope you'll join me in voting for Drew Hansen for 23rd District Representative.
