Rotary Club earns our deep gratitude | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:
The loo, head, john, powder room, the can, privy, water closet, restroom — whatever name you call it — it’s an extremely important place in our lives. And here at Housing Resources Board (HRB), finding funds for maintenance of bathrooms is not an easy task.
As a nonprofit Community Land Trust that provides affordable housing, it’s important for us at HRB to keep our properties maintained, from rafters to restrooms.
That is why the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island is such a huge housing hero for providing a very generous contribution to HRB of $16,000 to help upgrade 10 bathrooms at the Island Home apartments.
When you think about it, there are people in every community, every family, every tribe that step up to do the hard work. They are there to help with the important but unglamorous jobs. With this grant, the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island has been that force yet again for our island community and our neighbors at HRB.
They have our gratitude, heartfelt thanks and very sincere appreciation.
WENDY JOHNSON, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND DEVELOPMENT
