I do not think that the fairly recent change in our form of government altered it being a “representative” form. Unless I am wrong, that means our elected officials are supposed to represent we citizens.
To me, that means our council members are there to represent us – all of us. Mr. Peters doesn’t seem to agree with that concept.
In the Sept. 23 guest column (“Water utility should stay put”), he gives us his opinion as to how to resolve this bitterly fought issue.
Excuse me Barry, but you seem to have left out the important parties involved, and directed your attack at Dick Allen.
He represents only one segment of all concerned - the ratepayers, and so far he and his group are still alive.
You should hear from your constituents on this issue and save your own point of view for the council’s discussion where you and your colleagues will both listen, and hopefully hear, what is said.
Only then will the issue be resolved in an unbiased manner.
