We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved with the annual student art contest on March 6 at the Pavilion.
We truly appreciate the dedication of Dinah Satterwhite for hosting the annual contest.
We also applaud the volunteers’ hard work that make the show possible, the backing of the Bainbridge Island Arts and Humanities Council and the generous support of all the local businesses that contributed to the prizes.
Our daughter, Kristan, has participated in the contest since the first grade and looks forward each year to creating and entering her latest works.
We have enjoyed watching her mature as an artist and feel very grateful for the support she has received from the artists on Bainbridge Island.
This year, she won best in show and her picture is displayed along with the other winners at the Verksted Gallery in Poulsbo.
We encourage everyone to stop by the gallery and view their works of art.
Each year we are amazed at the talent displayed at the show and how the number of participants has grown.
There were over 220 pieces displayed this year. We hope that everyone involved in the contest recognize the positive efforts you have in building brighter futures for young artists.
