I am absolute shocked by what I received in the mail today. Hilary Franz and Brenda Bauer, you have absolutely no business auditing my energy usage or commenting on the same.

You letter titled “RePower Neighbor Comparison” tracks my private energy usage and compares it (unfavorably) with my “Efficient Neighbors.”

I ask you: Are the “efficient” neighbors to whom you compare me also a family of four adults? Are my “efficient” neighbors working full time as do we from home (and thus avoiding gas-guzzling commutes)?

Or are my “efficient” neighbors actually commuting daily to Seattle and leaving behind empty “efficient” shells?

I don’t need you looking over my shoulder. I don’t need you using taxpayer funds to shadow me as I flip on my light switch or heat my home.

The City of Bainbridge Island – teetering on bankruptcy – needs your full attention. We can attend ourselves to our own (fiscally sound home), thank you very much.

Keep your own house in order.
