Tennis group offers activity for students | Letters | Dec. 17

We are in an unprecedented age where our children are being deluged daily with addictive and sedentary screen-based activities. Getting children outside and into active sports is challenging, particularly for working parents that rely on schools and sports programs to bring these programs to their doorstep.

Bainbridge Community Tennis Association (BCTA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of tennis for children and adults of all ages and abilities.

In pursuit of this goal, BCTA has, for the past four years, run an affordable, low-key and fun tennis program for elementary students.

This program is an after-school activity that takes place in the child’s own school gym, and is geared to all levels of experience and ability.

I urge parents to take advantage of this annual January and February program.
