Favorite mocha tops Veteran's Day Letters | Dec. 3
After retiring from the U.S. Navy, serving 30 years in the submarine service as a master chief petty officer, I finally received my “very first personal trait” as a veteran on last month’s Veteran’s Day celebration.
I have been retired for 20 years and when I was on my way home from this year’s Veteran’s Day celebration at the Kitsap County Fairground Pavilion, which was attended by all branches of the armed forces, retired and active members and by hundreds of people, I decided to stop by the Town & Country coffee shop for my favorite mocha.
Upon seeing me in my uniform and learning that I am a veteran, Patti and Denise immediately offered me a grande, double-tall mocha with whipped cream as a complement from Town & Country.
I got emotional by the kind gesture and was in tears when I thanked them. Patti and Denise and Town & Country, I salute you. I am very proud to have served this beautiful country and the kind people of the United States of America that helped me become what I am today.
