Off-island voters deserve respect, too | Letters | Oct. 29

Thank you for your coverage of the debate between Jay Inslee and James Watkins. I was very interested in getting details. It has been very difficult to find this information. After googling for two days, I found a link to an article in the Bainbridge Review.
Although things appeared to be confrontational that night, according to the article, I have concerns about Mr. Inslee’s comments about “hecklers from off the island” and not recognizing the people “spouting off as his neighbors.”
As a constituent seeking information on the election, Mr. Inslee’s focus on “his neighbors” and his disdain for those “off the island” bother me.
This was the only debate between the two candidates. Everyone in the district should have been welcome. Mr. Inslee, your district is beyond the borders of Bainbridge Island. Those of us on the mainland deserve more respect.
