All members of Bainbridge Island Kiwanis Club want to thank the community for the support, assistance, time and energy that went into making the first annual Summer Bike Challenge such a great success. Our thanks to all the sponsors, whose generous contributions allowed us to have banners, signs, ads on the ferries, and BITV and especially the bike clubs and cycle shops throughout the state that helped spread the word over the past months.

To the groups from our schools who served food and drinks to the riders. To the many volunteers, young and not so young who guarded the routes. The Bainbridge Island Ambulance Service, Ham Radio Club cars, the Fire Department and Police Departmen for helping make this a safe ride.

The weather couldn’t have been better for the riders, but maybe a little warmer for the volunteers handing out various refreshments.

Look for more details and specific thanks to specific people.

And, if you had a good time, spread the word. The Summer Challenge will be back next year.
