Leigh Taylor

Leigh Allen Taylor

March 29, 1957 – June 7, 2016

Leigh Allen Taylor was born Sheree Leigh Stubblefield in Richmond, Virginia, grew up in Kentucky and Tennessee, and lived most of her adult life on Bainbridge Island and in North Bend, Washington. She died at home after a two-year battle with cancer.

Curious, adventurous, and dynamic, Leigh was a free spirit with boundless interests and a bottomless reading list. Among many other things, Leigh was a lifelong dancer, a questioner, a sci-fi fan and Trekkie, a great writer and author of four books, and an incomparable mother and friend.

She was predeceased by her parents, James Stubblefield and Margaret Rouse Stubblefield. She is survived by her children, Matt and Jordan of Bainbridge Island; her brother, Lynn, of Morristown, Tennessee; and her aunt and uncle, among others.

There will be a memorial evening beginning at 6 p.m. June 22 at Grace Episcopal Church, 8595 NE Day Rd, Bainbridge Island. Please wear something purple.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Leigh to The Elephant Sanctuary: www.elephants.com.
