Gregory Michael Hepp

Nov. 7, 1951 – May 21, 2017

The earth lost a good steward. Greg Hepp died peacefully, surrounded by family on May 21. Greg was confronted by a rare cancer two years ago. Refusing to let cancer rule him, Greg lived two full years doing what he loved until just recently. Greg is survived by his wife, Linda Shadwell, his children, Allison Hepp (husband Evan Eggerstrom) and Spencer Hepp. Kirsten Hartz rounded out their family. His mother, Phyllis Hepp and siblings live in Oregon.

Greg was a principal at Bassetti Architects in Seattle and led the office in green architecture for schools and other civic projects, including Seattle City Hall, Gold, LEED rated.

An avid bicycle commuter, back packer, consummate skier and good mariner, Greg led his family on numerous kayak adventures, including expeditions deep into the Queen Charlotte Strait. Greg lived by and taught sustainable principles and resistance to the global corporate economy. Greg always ate dessert first and…the Rolling Stones is the best rock and roll band. A full obituary will follow.

A celebration of Greg’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 10, at The Island School, Bainbridge Island.
