Deborah Lynn Ugles

November 8, 1954 – March 27, 2016

Our beloved wife and mother, Deborah Lynn Ugles passed on Easter morning, March 27th at 7:45am, finally free of the pain and suffering from the cancers she so courageously fought for many months. She was born on November 8, 1954 and was 61 years of age. She leaves behind her mother Robbie Cooper of Torrance, California, loving husband of 38 years Cris of Bainbridge Island, WA, her daughter Cassidy of Santa Barbara, CA and her two sisters Christina (Cooper) Morgan of Torrance, CA and Sandra Sarratt of Lubbock, Texas. Deborah also leaves behind her nieces and nephews; Jenna Morgan, Jordan Morgan, Brian Bowman, mother in-law Molly Ugles, stepfather in-law Herb Martin, sister in-law Gloria Ugles Krien, brother in-law’s Herald and John Ugles and sister in-law Deb Amiga, as well as countless friends; we will all miss her dearly. Deborah was preceded in death by her father Arthur Cooper, aunt Retha Stephenson and her nephew Kirk Woodson.

Her singing filled her home and her life with her joy, and now when the sun comes out, if you listen carefully, you may still hear her singing, let it remind you of Deb’s beautiful smile and fill your heart with her love.

She loved animals immensely and rescued many dogs and cats over the years always finding them loving homes, sometimes even convincing her family to keep one or two to be spoiled endlessly. She also had an incredible green thumb and took great pleasure in tending to her many orchids, while her vegetable and flower gardens and impressive orchard thrived under her care. Deb loved art as well and her favorite lifelong hobby of making stained glass has left her family with many beautiful remembrances of her talent. Deb also loved to travel: taking trips with her husband and daughter up and down the coast, to Florida Keys, Hawaii, and visits to her southern California “home.” She spent a lot of time enjoying and enriching both her Bainbridge Island and Southern California families.

A celebration of Deborah Lynn’s life for all of our friends and family will be held on Bainbridge Island on Saturday May 7th, 1pm to 5pm, at 6630 Fletcher Bay Rd. Please RSVP no later than April 20th to: debuglescelebration@gmail.com if you are attending.
