UPDATE | Prank 911 call came from Route 30 bus

Bainbridge Island police are investigating a possible prank call that left officers searching area schools for a possible gunman.

The prank call is believed to have been made by two girls aboard a Route 30 bus from Ordway Elementary.

Children aboard the bus that the call was made from were being assembled at Ordway to talk to a police detective.

An FBI agent was also reportedly en-route to assist in the interviews.

Bainbridge schools went on lockdown just before 3 p.m. Wednesday after emergency dispatchers received a report of a person with a gun near an island school.

Multiple Bainbridge police units, as well as many from off-island, descended on island schools to search for a possible suspect before it was determined the 911 call was a hoax.
