UPDATE | Power back on for most of Bainbridge Island

Electricity has been restored for most of the South End of Bainbridge Island.

Nearly 2,000 Puget Sound Energy customers lost power after strong winds knocked down trees and heavy branches early Wednesday morning, and the entire South End of Bainbridge was left without electricity.

Work crews have restored power for much of the island.

Just before noon Wednesday, PSE reported that all but 127 customers have had their electricity restored.

Three outages remain, all in the Fort Ward area.

PSE hopes to have the power back on to all Bainbridge customers by 2 p.m. Wednesday.
