UPDATE | Bainbridge police searching for Honda driven by BHS intruder

Bainbridge Island police are searching for a dark blue 2013 Honda Fit that may have been used by a man who prompted a school lockdown on Bainbridge Wednesday.

Bainbridge High and nearby schools were locked down just after 2 p.m. Wednesday after a strange man entered the main building at Bainbridge High and lurked in the entryway before following a female student into a restroom.

Bainbridge police said the student quickly left the restroom after the man began looking under the stall doors. The student told school staff about the stranger, and the school was put on lockdown.

The man was apparently seen driving away in a dark blue 2013 Honda Fit.

Other schools on Bainbridge were also put on lockdown, but students were released not long after 3 p.m.

Police continued their search for the man and the Honda across the island Wednesday afternoon, and were also checking ferries that had left the Bainbridge terminal after the student reported the intruder.
