SWERV lecture explores Syrian refugee crisis

Savvy Women Exchanging Relevant Views will meet next week for the program “Syria and the Refugee Crisis in the Middle East.”

SWERV gathers from 10:30 to noon Tuesday, July 10 at Filipino American Hall,

7566 High School Road.

All women are invited to hear professor Paula Holmes-Eber discuss the conditions on the ground as poor countries surrounding Syria attempt to absorb 8 million refugees fleeing the conflict there.

She will also address ways to truly help the suffering.

An anthropologist, Holmes-Eber is an affiliate professor at the University of Washington who has published extensively and taught courses about the peoples and cultures of the Islamic Middle East.
